Battle Worlds: Kronos Kickstarter campaign a success

PC GamesKING Art, the developer behind the critically-acclaimed Book of Unwritten Tales, has now surpassed its Kickstarter campaign target and is nearing its second stretch-goal for Battle Worlds: Kronos, a re-visit of classic turn-based strategy.

Having reached its initial goal of $120,000 within seven days of the project going live and with a Greenlight campaign attracting rapturous acclaim from the Steam community, both the core strategy and wider gaming populace have clearly been impressed with the slick visuals and impressive gameplay on show.

Bremen-based KING Art studios made a prototype of Battle Worlds: Kronos six years ago which gained huge popularity with the European strategy community. W hen no publishers came forward with a suitable offer, the studio had to focus on other projects, in particular the award-winning and critically acclaimed Book of Unwritten Tales. After seeing success with the point-and-click adventure, KING Art has returned to Battle Worlds: Kronos, rebuilding the game from the ground up with new technology and graphics, while keeping the original idea and gameplay mechanics.

“We have been thrilled with the support so far – all of our campaign backers and the gaming community as a whole have helped shape the game that we have been wanting to make for so many years,” Said Jan Theysen, Creative Director at KING Art games. “It’s a real pleasure being able to create something with so much input. When the game is released later this year I have no doubt it will blow everyone away.”

Battle Worlds: Kronos is now rapidly nearing its second stretch-goal of $250,000 in a bid to take the game to mobile platforms after launch – still with 15 days of the Kickstarter project to go. For all that wish to see the game in action, a theatrical teaser trailer and a series of gameplay videos, named the Battle Worlds Academy, are available now for download.
