The Godfather of Mafia-MMO's relaunching in France

PC GamesIndependent online-gaming publisher, Omerta Game Ltd, are proud to announce the French version relaunch of their stalwart Mafia-themed MMORPG, Omerta (http://www.barafranca.com)

On October 28th, the French language version of Omerta - populated by players from France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland and other Francophone countries - will be the latest facet of the mafia-themed universe to upgrade to the all-new Version 3.3.

Version 3.3 adds a host of player-empowering features to the popular free-to-play online-game and has already proven a resounding success across several international versions of Omerta.

"We're taking Omerta 'back to the people' with a raft of settings that players will be able to influence to stir up game-play as they see fit. Since the 4-million player milestone, we have been actively engaging with players to see how Omerta can stay top of the league of Mafia-themed games. They told us 'do as we say' so that's what we're doing!", commented Omerta Game Ltd C.E.O. Steve Biddick.

>From Lyon to Quebec, Version 3.3 will allow wannabe gangsters unprecedented control over how they experience Omerta's 1930's set Mafia world. Most notably, the French-speaking players will now be able to influence the way the game works while it is actually running a first for the MMORPG.

Omerta Game Ltd worked closely with their community while developing the version 3.3 code, allowing players to decide on a host of game-changing tweaks and improvements. Players can now decide how many Mafia families Omerta's 8 cities can support preventing a previous problem of too many smaller-families stalling the games progress and complaints that the available armoury made offline players an unassailable 'tank' have also been addressed.

"Our players told us that families were dividing into countless and pointless little families so we built a new feature to let the community decide how many Mafia families Omerta's 8 cities can support. Later in the version we hope to pilot a City Mayor feature, which will allow players direct control over a myriad of detailed functions within the game. We are the only game on the web not 'leading the players by the nose'" adds Biddick.

Omerta Game Ltd pride themselves on producing a community-lead gaming experience, with features such as Vote of the Day and numerous lively IRC channels and forums affording players a strong voice in how the game world evolves. Omerta has even developed its own player-written newspaper called The Times, which gives users a direct outlet to air their opinions while reporting on key events and Mafia wars within the game world.

Thanks to a bespoke application that links players accounts to Facebook, Omerta's official Facebook presence is rapidly growing. Crew and staff members, including Omerta C.E.O. Steve Biddick, are using Facebook as a social forum to engage with players and discuss ideas on a personal level.

Omerta is completely free-to-play, only requires a modest PC with an internet connection, and is currently available in 29 different languages.
