Indie Game Studio Introduces Open-world Game Featuring Sword Wielding Fox

Indie Game Studio Introduces Open-world Game Featuring Sword Wielding FoxBurgeoning independent game studio, Clockwork Giant Games, has introduced a charming new open-world game, called Vulpine, in which players survive as ridiculously well-armed animals. After choosing to be either a fox, wolf, bear, rabbit, or other woodland creature, they must fend off ruthless monsters and navigate dangerous dungeons as they explore pristine forests hunting for food, gathering resources and searching for lost civilizations. Vulpine adventures can be embarked on solo or in packs of 32 or more friends.

Players choose animals from one of three categories: small, medium, large. The smaller animals are more agile, but weak while the larger ones are slow but strong. The speed and damage of an animal's weapon (a spear, sword, or hammer) is affected by their size as well. Animals can also explore the huge landmass, which has a variety of biomes and environments, and mark their territory claim a plot of land for their pack to build a place to sleep and store items. To regroup, they can warp to their customizable safe house, a den, where equipment and other resources are stored.

"We loved the concept of creating an RPG with normal animals that have extraordinary skills. Taking inspiration from one of our all time favorite games, Tokyo Jungle, we developed Vulpine 101 at our very first game jam. Since then, we've developed several games but we just couldn't shake the idea of a game where you play as an animal. That's why we decided, about six months ago, to revisit the idea and dedicated ourselves to developing this new version of Vulpine full-time. We've gotten a lot of positive feedback so far, for example it was greenlit on steam in less than two weeks." explains co-founder of Clockwork Giant Games, Isaac Goodin.

About Clockwork Giant Games

Clockwork giant games was unofficially founded in early 2013 when brothers Isaac and Josiah Goodin when they attended a few game jams just for fun. Together with Isaac's extensive background in programming and Josiah's expertise in modeling and animation, they created Vulpine 101, a first person survival game where you played as a fox at their very first game jam, in a week at the Seven Day First Person Shooter Challenge. After that, they attended many more game jams and worked on several larger scale games/prototypes. However, they were still determined to develop a game where one plays as an animal. So, as of December 2015, they decided to work full-time on their current project inspired by that idea, Vulpine.

Pre-orders of copies of the final release of Vulpine can be made exclusively through Kickstarter from August 10 until September 21. Access to the closed beta and Steam Early Access versions for PC and Mac can also be ordered during this time. The final release is planned for July 2017.
