Cosmic Cavern 3671

PC GamesThe first major arrangement of the historical masterpiece Space Cavern, 36 years since its introduction

In July 1980, Cosmic Cavern was released by Dr. Takaya Arita, currently a professor at Nagoya University. This work was the original sandbox game and was also a “strategic digging game” that existed roughly two years before Dig Dug.

Cosmic Cavern 3671 compiles three versions of Cosmic Cavern—a 1980s Arcade Arrange Version by two legendary game developers, an MZ-700 Arrange Version, and the MZ-80 Original Version. It will be sold on Steam and Playism.

The graphics for the 1980s Arcade Arrange Version were created by Koji “Mr. Dotman” Ono, who drew the artwork for classic Namco arcade games like Dig Dug, Xevious,and Mappy. The soundtrack was composed by Yuzo Koshiro, famous for such classic Sega games as Streets of Rage, The Revenge of Shinobi, and Shenmue.

Several new features have been added to both the MZ-700 and 1980s Arcade Arrange Versions, including a significant boost to the game's action and two-player simultaneous co-op. In addition, the 1980s Arcade Arrange Version dramatically increases the game's strategic gameplay with the addition of thinner walls and the introduction of a pet helper character.

In the MZ-80 Original, the hardware limitations meant the snakes only faced left, even when moving to the right, but we have provided a setting that allows the snakes to face the direction they are moving. In addition, we have added options for changing the color scheme for monitors used on the MZ-80C, MZ-80K, and MZ-80K2E.

Upon passing through Steam Greenlight, Cosmic Cavern 3671 will be released on Steam and Playism. Currently, you can vote for us on Steam Greenlight through the link below. Please vote for us! ;
