New horror from Poland coming in August

New horror from Poland coming in AugustThe developer behind Phantaruk – Polyslash – invites you to board the spaceship Purity-02, where the true survival horror experience awaits anyone who dares to enter. The game releases in August and we want you to learn about what you might expect in the dark corridors of Purity-02. Phantaruk is an FPP horror game which combines survival horror with adventure and stealth game. Expect true shivers down your spine as you fight for your life not only when facing the dangers roaming dark corridors, but most of all – when you try to get rid of toxins continually destroying you from the inside…

For long has the humanity been constrained by limits of human body. Most have accepted the imperfection of flesh, but some sought for liberation. To pursue the dream of creating a post-human being – to achieve ideas of transhumanism – is the driving force behind H+ Corporation. Within its facilities technology and homo sapiens became one entity. An organism devoid of humanity’s biological weaknesses.

The game takes place in the distant future. Humanity effectively introduces the achievements of the idea of transhumanism, a thought that aims to create a post-human, a being devoid of our biological weaknesses. Technology and homo sapiens become co-existing terms in one organism. The player - a victim of expertiments - lands on board of the spaceship Purity-02, which is the cradle of research carried out in this field by H+ Corporation. The idyll ends when we realize that Purity-02 is an almost completely deserted, deadly trap. A mythical beast of the mysterious name Phantaruk roams the ship’s corridor. The monster has only one purpose – to kill everything in sight.

“It looks good, it plays great, all that’s left is wait for it to be finished” -

Alexandru Chirilla,

The game offers a modern stunning visual experience. Combined with audio, it creates an immersive environment that takes the player down the rabbit hole and doesn’t let go until the very end. The environmental design of the game was partially inspired by great titles such as Doom 3 and Dead Space - dark and gritty looks are part of the Purity-02 spaceship’s environment.

“One of our goals was to make sure that the player can never feel completely safe. We created an environment in which you are constantly hunted down and can be surprised at every corner. We achieved that by exploiting tools more sophisticated than simple jump scares which are so prevalent in horror video games.”, says the main designer of the game, Patryk Polewiak.

The main features of the game are what makes Phantaruk unique. A modern survival horror at first sight, it offers a lot more when you start playing. Dark mood created by continuous tension and presence of danger drives you to explore the big, abandoned spaceship in order to find a way out. A terrifying enemy lurking in the shadows, which reacts to your behavior and won't stop until it gets you. And finally, the unique health system based on player's pulse – you will have to use special syringes in order to stop the toxins from infecting your body and will be on the lookout for batteries all the time. When your flashlight dies, you are likely to die too.

An official trailer is going to be available in June. Phantaruk is going to be released on Steam for PC and possibly Mac/Linux in August. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are under consideration.
